Bruce is active in a variety of business and civic groups. He currently sits on the Planning Committee for the Urban Land Institute-Los Angeles District Council where he previously served as chair of the StimULI Breakfast subcommittee and is member of the National Association of Real Estate Editors. He also served on the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Heart Association and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Ventura County Junior Golf Association. Bruce has been involved in high school sports for 22 years as a head coach in baseball and golf. In 2014 he was named California High School Golf Coach of the Year by the California Coaches Association.
Bruce turned down a professional baseball contract with the Kansas City Royals in 1972 to attend Pepperdine University on an athletic scholarship where he earned a BA in Communication Theory.

He is an award-winning journalist with extensive multimedia experience that includes social media marketing, event planning and video production.
Prior to joining DB&R, Bob spent 18 years as a multimedia journalist for the Ventura County Star. Before joining the Star, Bob served as the senior news editor for two industry-related magazines, one focused on the multibillion dollar Pet Industry and another one covering the Veterinary Industry on a worldwide basis.
He also spent several years as a business writer and reporter for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune/Pasadena Star News, shining a spotlight on the movers and shakers in the business communities throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
Bob attended California State University, Northridge, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. During his time at CSUN, Bob spent two years working as the women’s sports information director, handling public relations needs for all of the university’s womens athletic teams and personnel.
Bob is active in his community, volunteering his time to help with the development of young athletes in the area is also dedicated to fundraising for charities that support children’s health and to aiding the homeless in the Santa Clarita Valley, where he and his family reside.
